Teken & Draw Architecture was founded by Blyda Hefer in 2016 and is a small, design orientated, architectural studio based in the Strand, Cape Town.
The studio strives to design and create buildings and spaces that’s sensitive and relevant to its context and delightful to inhabit and to experience.
A strong emphasis is placed on project specific design clarity and coherent detailing. The conceptual design of each project is unique and sensitive to the needs of the client, the physical constraints of the site, the relevance of the physical and social context, the project’s potential impact on the environment and last but not least, the project budget.
The current project portfolio is progressively expanding and gradually becoming more diverse. To date work has been done in the following fields: residential, hospitality, historic conservation & renovation, and light industrial. An aim is to include public buildings and work for the public sector in due course.
The full spectrum of architectural services, as defined by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession and described in Board Notice 121 of 2015, published in the Government Gazette dated 12 June 2015, are available to clients.
The studio aspires to provide clients with an efficient and professional service whilst pursuing design excellence.
